# Operation

> Inspect authorized metadata for a durable agent operation.

# crewship operation

Inspect durable Issue operations without exposing internal authority, request
keys or stored mutation payloads. Requires authentication and a selected
workspace. Defined in `cmd/crewship/cmd_chat_entity_refs.go`.

## `crewship operation get`

```bash theme={null}
crewship operation get <operation-id>
crewship operation get <operation-id> --format yaml
```

Calls `GET /api/v1/operations/{operationId}` and returns `id`, `status`, `kind`,
`verb`, `entity`, `provenance` and `revision_at_action`. The default output is
JSON; the global `--format` flag also supports YAML and NDJSON. Global
`--filter` applies a jq expression to the JSON response.

The current viewer must be allowed to read the issue and a source chat in the
selected workspace. Missing and inaccessible operations both fail with `404`.
Restricted sessions are unsupported. The command is read-only and does not
replay a mutation, confirm a proposal or start work.

Use the operation ID from a successful mutation response; an event ID from
`crewship chat refs` identifies a reference and is not an operation ID.

See [Chat entity references](/specs/chat-entity-references) for the response
contract and [Chat](/cli/chat) for the card list.
